The workshop was tailored primarily for NGHA clinicians—physicians, nurses, and other health professionals that will help them make appropriate decisions about health care. It gives emphasis on describing a range of generally accepted approaches for the diagnosis, management, or prevention of specific diseases or conditions.  Likewise it defines practices that meet the needs of most patients in most circumstances, thus introducing the principles and processes of adapting and implementing existing CPGs and  support to finalize and publish CPGs by committed, expert clinicians of King Abdulaziz Medical City, National Guard Health Affairs.

Jako S. Burgers, PhD, MD, conducted the workshop from 23rd till 25th of March 2009.  With his numerous academic positions, professional experience and appointments in the Guidelines International Network (G-I-N), he was also a founding member of ADAPTE Collaboration which supports guideline adaptation.  In addition, he is also a Dutch Harkness fellow in Harvard School of Public Health, Boston.
