Cochrane Review Initiative Project “CRIP”
CRIP is the Abbreviation for the Cochrane Review
Initiative Project, which was developed by National and Gulf Center for EBM at
National Guard Health Affairs, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
CRIP Objectives:
To synthesize 10 Cochrane reviews in the year
2005 by reviewers from NGHA and other institutions in Saudi Arabia.
Cochrane review is a systematic review that
follows Cochrane Collaboration principles. There are currently
more than 9000 people contributing to the work of the Cochrane collaboration
from over 80 countries, and this involvement continue to grow.
Methods:
CRIP has 4 Phases:
PHASE I: REVIEWERS RECRUITMENT & TITLE REGISTRATION:
Expected 20 Physicians to be recruited in CRIP.
Time Frame: two and half months started at 1st January 2005
PHASE II: PROTOCOL WRITING:
Reviewers to publish their Protocols within 2 months starts at March 15.
PHASE III: QUALITY ASSESSMENT & META-ANALYSIS:
Reviewers are expected to complete data
extraction, quality assessment and metaanalysis within five and half month,
starts at May 15th 2005
PHASE IV: REVIEW PUBLICATION
Reviewers are expected to complete and publish
their reviews by the end of this phase, which ends at December 31st
2005
